New Release

Jewelry is more than just an accessory; its a way to show off your own unique style and personality. In fact, it can very much be considered an art just as much as fashion can. It is really the frosting on the cake when it comes to fashion, after all. Not only to the people who wear it, but to the designer, this is a vision brought to life to express who they are. This is why it is really the more rare artisans who make their own jewelry who should be at the forefront of the fashion world.

As consumers it is our job to make sure that these artisans who are really creating art with their jewelry are able to continue bringing to life these unique creations. Hugo Puerto, a resident of Orlando, Fl, saw this and put his entrepreneurial expertise to the test creating his own company that would market Latin-American artisans work throughout the world.

His company, Innovations Arts, brings these exclusive pieces of Latin-American art to the global community. Allowing this jewelry to be seen world-wide through the use of the internet, helps not only customers to find the unique product they are looking for, but also helps these artisans be able to continue creating their art by giving them a huge new market. The jewelry sold at www.innovationsarts.com can only be found on that website and is not available in stores. These limited collections allow for the customers to know that what they are wearing is unique. Jewelry no longer has to be something to run with the pack, you can now stand out and express yourself while knowing that in purchasing these pieces you are allowing someone else to continue creating the art they love. With a system like this everybody can win.

Cathleen Plazas is a 21 year old college senior studyingPsychology and International Theater. She is also the press director forInnovations Arts and has been working with Hugo Puerto since the company'sfounding. An Orlando native born to Colombian parents, with a keen eye forfashion and a heart for helping others she is very excited to be part ofsuch a great company.

" Coldplay " : It's Easy To Play

A hand drum is a kind of drum that is played primarily with hands other than using any sticks, mallet, hammer or any type of beater. Frame drum, a shallow, cylindrical shell with a drumhead attached to one of the open ends, is one of the early forms of this kind of drums. Tabla, mridangam etc. are the Indian forms of hand drums.

The types of drums vary from place to place. Like in the Middle and near east Tar, tambourine, daf, dayereh, ghaval, tonbak etc. are found. In Africa the most common form of hand drum is djembe, single headed, large drum, which is goblet in shape. Its other African types are ashiko that is similar to djembe that comes in the shape of truncated cone. While Bougarabou drums are made with cow skin heads.

In Latin America, congas and bongos are part and parcel of every kind of Latin American music. Especially Caribbean and South American regions use congas and bongas both in folklore like punta, rumba and popular music like salsa, latin jazz and others. The conga is a tall, narrow, single headed Cuban drum that is commonly played in Congo. The person who plays a conga is called a congureo. Congas are played in five basic types of strokes namely open tone, muffled tone, bass tone, slap and touch. Bongo drums or bongos are two small drums attached to each other. They produce high pitched sounds and are played holding between the knees with the larger drum on the side. They are played by striking the drumheads with the fingers and palms.

In Far East and India tabla, mridangam are an integral part of music. Not to mention ghatams and kanjiras equally accompany the mridangam in Classical karnatatic music. The term tabla is originated from an Arabic word which means drum. The majority of the tabla performers were Muslims, whose habitat was either near or at the center of Mughal cultural centers like Delhi, Lucknow, Allahabad, Hyderbad and Lahore. Initially vocalists and instrumentalists accompanied tabla players. But gradually they developed a tradition of solo performances.

In Europe the Irish Bodhran sometimes is played with the bare hand. A goat skin head is attached to one side, though now a days new materials like synthetic heads or kangaroo skin, are sometimes used. The other side is open ended, so that the hands could be placed in the drumhead in perfect manner to control the pitch and timber. If we peep in history, we will find that the bodhran was used during the Irish rebellion of 1603 as a war drum or battle drum. The drum is usually played in a seated position, held vertically on the players' thigh and is supported by the upper body and arm.

The hang is the modern kind of hand drum that is played with fingers. The hang is played resting on a player's lap or sometimes on a stand. It was the result of many years of research and study of the wide variety of instruments across the world like gongs, gamelan, ghatam, drums, bells etc.

The world of hand drums is really very rhythmic and melodious. With the passage of time the evolution of hand drum seems to bring a sweet note on the technology driven life.

Coldplay Poster Exclusive Live and Uncut 20 By 30

This poster is 20 inches by 30 inches approximately and is in mint condition

On your next visit to Panama, Peru or Uruguay communicating will be easy as you read through the basics in Spanish.

The English vowels a e i o u remain similar in writing in Spanish. The alphabets all 29 of them are easy with an addition of 'e' e.g. Ce,de,ge and so on. A rapid one, two, three is uno, dos, tres, going upto 'mil' for 1000 and tres milliones for 3 million.

A dairy of a visitor to Spain:

The next time it rains wear un impermeable (raincoat). After sight seeing you can remove your unos zapatos (shoes) and relax in unas sandalias (sandals). Winters require un sueter (sweater) and una camiseta (T shirt) for summers.

Pan, mantequilla (Bread and butter) for breakfast and some refreshing caf or te (coffee or tea). It is wise to carry some aqua (water).

You could shop for jackets in rosado or azul (pink and blue) respectively or chose a negro (black) sueter. Morado (violet) is a velvety colour and rojo (red) is a favourite.

You could pick gifts for your esposo ( husband) or your (daughter) hija. Your aunt (tia) and sobrina (niece) will have to wait for their turns.

You will surely miss your padre and madre (pa and mom) and you may write to them. Sabado and domingo ( Saturday and Sunday) are cool days with most time resting on your (back) la espalda. With too much shopping lists in your (head) la cabeza washing your (face) la cara will freshen you. Other errands can be done on Lunes - Monday and Viernes - Friday.

The Spanish language was formed from Vulgar Latin with lot of borrowings from Basque, Iberia and Arabic. Change is seen in the language old Spanish and modern Spanish words for e.g. efeto to efecto, licion to leccion, coluna to columna etc. Latin borrowings of original Latin words like bonus and Taurus are bueno to toro in Spanish. Dialects are different as a vela becomes candela though both stand for the candle.

Today, there are many Spanish classes conducted everywhere to help people learn and enhance their compatibility to the fast moving world. It is necessary though however fluent one is in the language to understand various dialects and factors affecting the change in grammar variables. All this calls for a comprehensive study of the Spanish language.

To learn the language better, you can check some good proverbs.

Eclipse Series 6 - Carlos Saura's Flamenco Trilogy (Blood Wedding / Carmen / El Amor Brujo) (Criterion Collection)

One of Spanish cinema's great auteurs, Carlos Saura brought international audiences closer to the art of his country's dance than any other filmmaker, before or since. In his Flamenco Trilogy-Blood Wedding, Carmen, and El amor brujo-Saura merged his passion for music with his ongoing exploration of Spanish national identity. All starring and choreographed by legendary dancer Antonio Gades, the films feature thrilling physicality and electrifying cinematography and editing-colorful paeans to bodies in motion as well as to the cinema that so eloquently, and artfully, captured them.
Customer Review: Fantastico!
If you want a sweet taste of flamenco - this is a perfect set. Starting w/Blood Wedding - progressing to Carmen - and finishing w/El Amor Brujo. Fantastico!
Customer Review: Brilliance
My love of flamenco music was born when I heard Carlos Montaya playing when I was about 25 years old. I am now 73 years old and when I hear flamenco it is through my heart not my ears, I watched this dvd Eclipse Series 6 Carlos Saura's Flamenco on my 107 " plasm tv, it was breathtaking, such brilliance and beauty, watching it over and over again it moves me every time.

It's very important for everyone to have an outlet of some sort, particularly to alleviate stress. Athletics, art, and playing a musical instrument are all fantastic outlets for stress.

For most people who remember their teenage years may remember how truly challenging and stressful they really were! With all the many emotional and physical changes that occur during this awkward time in life can be difficult to deal with, to say the least.

For this reason, it is extremely important for teenagers to have an outlet! Being involved in sports, doing art, or playing guitar or drums are certainly better outlets than watching television or just listening to music. Mainly because the first three require right brain activity.

If you are a teenager, or a full grown adult, I encourage to find something that you enjoy to manage stress. We all know stress can take years off your life, and managing it is critically important!

If you are already involved in a sport, then good for you. If not, it may be difficult to break into one at this point.

Most people who are excelling in a particular sport typically have been involved in it since elementary school. Given that fact, joining a team at this stage may be rather intimidating! But, that's not to say you can't get involved in a sport at your local YMCA.

They usually have something going on that is open to their members who simply just want to have fun and burn off some stress.

If you are involved in art, then again, good for you! It seems art is something one truly enjoys if he or she is good at it. Those who are not good at it typically will not stay with it for long. It's like anything, though... the better you are at something, the more you tend to enjoy it. And the reverse is true as well... the more you enjoy what you're doing, the better you will become at it.

Playing a musical instrument is in a different realm altogether. Opportunities abound practically for anyone that didn't have an interest as a child (as opposed to playing sports). And, unlike art, learning to play a musical instrument such as the drums, guitar, keyboard, or a wind instrument may open many doors of opportunity like possibly joining a rock band, jazz band, or a marching band. Also you may be able to participate in local theatre and competitions.

Learning to play a musical instrument is linked to improved coordination, higher concentration levels, improved language skills, improved social skills, improved memory skills, and higher test scores.

So, if athletics or art are activities you are not too excited about, give a musical instrument a try. There are schools and music teachers who offer lessons for people of any age and skill level. There are also numerous books that are self-teaching, which will give you basic instruction to help you get started.

Speed of Sound

Canadian pressing includes the title track plus 'Things I Don't Understand', 'Proof' and 'Dati'. Capitol. 2005.

The Dance-a-Thon is not an original idea, but using a dance fundraiser as one of your primary fundraisers might be. Kids love it, especially at the middle school and high school level. Whether your group holds many fundraisers throughout the year, or relies on one large fundraiser, this might be a good solution.

A Dance-a-Thon is probably most suited to school fundraising, but it could also be adapted to other groups as well. If you are investigating a Dance-a-Thon for a school fundraiser, a word to the wise, do it early in the school year.

That is, within the first three months of the school year. If you go too late in the year, apathy can set in not only with students, but with the volunteers youll need to pull it off.

The main expense for a fundraising Dance-a-Thon is the DJ. Its best not to use live music with a band since you will want to have a variety of music and its hard to do that with a live band. Whatever you do, dont skimp on the DJ!

Choose one with good references, a large music collection, and good equipment. This will be the primary focus of your event, so dont cheap it out.

Dance fundraiser profit tips
The profits will come from ticket sales and concessions. To make sure your event is well attended, publicity is the key. Publicize the event well in advance, and keep the push on until the day of the Dance-a-Thon.

To make concession sales a big part of your profits, have the good stuff. Give em what they want! Pizza, popcorn, candy, bag chips and not the cheap kind, even fast food brought in from a nearby eatery work best.

Additional profits can also come from having a raffle at the event. Tickets can be pre-sold and sold at the event for prizes that people really want.

Depending on the size and age of your group, small electronics work well. Raffle off a CD player, DVD player, MP3 player, and so on. Local businesses may be willing to donate prizes or sell them to you at cost.

Another way to make sure you get the most profit from your Dance-a-Thon is to sell Shout-Outs for about a dollar. A shout out is a message that is read by the DJ to the crowd between songs.

For example, Heres a Shout Out from Kimberly to all her soccer team buddies. Dolphins Rule!

Youll need to have slips of paper pre-printed so the Shout Outs can be submitted that include:

To:

From:

Message:

Give a few to every teacher about a week before the Dance-a-Thon and ask them to distribute them to deserving students. Once the first few Shout Outs are done, everyone will want a piece of the action. Be sure to have lots of volunteers working the Shout Outs table after that!

One last note about Dance-a-Thons; they can be pretty labor intensive so be sure to line up your volunteers early. One middle school in North Carolina had a Dance-a-Thon and the promise to the volunteers was this:

We hope to make enough money with the Dance-a-Thon that we wont have to have another major fundraiser for the rest of the school year! Thats right, no wrapping paper, no magazine sales, no selling fruit baskets.

Watch the volunteers clamor to help at your dance fundraiser and watch your groups profits soar.

Verdi - La Traviata

Opera superstars Renée Fleming and Rolando Villazón star in the sumptuous 2006 Los Angeles production of Verdi's tragic masterpiece, La Traviata. This performance was the highlight of James Conlon's much-anticipated inaugural season as the music director of Los Angeles Opera, a post that followed his impressive tenure at the Paris National Opera. The lavish production was filmed in Hi-Definition Widescreen to capture all of the excitement and drama on stage. Veteran Verdi baritone Renato Bruson rounds out this dynamic ensemble. Renée Fleming's heart-breaking portrayal of Violetta, as captured on this extraordinary DVD, has earned her rave reviews from press and Rolando Villazón returns to the role that made him an international powerhouse after his critically-acclaimed, soldout performances at the 2005 Salzburg Festival.
Customer Review: Old style opera! In the bad sense.
Well, this is a good oportunity to watch and listen Fleming, Villazón, Bruson and Conlon together. But the mise en scene by Mrs. Placido Domingo is so bad. Looks like a poor old style in a little town! And Fleming, one of my favorites sopranos, is not Violetta.
Customer Review: I saw this live
and it was not remotely close to being a great Traviata. Fleming did not project well; Villazon seemed stiff and nervous; Conlon is clearly not an accomplished Verdian conductor; the sets were average at best. Too many USA people just give any Fleming performance an inflated rating because she is attractive and is from the USA.

May be we are getting nearer to the end that we are in observance of the confluence of many things that we customarily are used to think and believe never to come too close to each other or never to cross each other's path till eternity. Then philosophy was a pure mental exercise psychology likewise, but limited to human behavior and where it comes from and what brought it about. The time has come now that where we can see and observe every human behavior or almost all human behavior with a corresponding physical and chemical activity within the brain physiology and other parts of our human body. How long ago was that we thought we could relate and map human behavior to a chemical and physiological brain make up and activity? Nonetheless, however hard knowing the knower is, we are making big leaps in shortening the gap between what was simply a metaphysical exercise and what was a quantifiable and qualify able material objective reality. As to who went right and who went wrong though very much dependent on who one asks the question , to an independent and objective observer it comes along clearly that both gave a lot of ground and they sure will give more till they have exhausted all of their individual standing. Will that be? Or will that not be?

However long the time and distance, it seems every bit what we have learned and are learning about us and ever thing else to date suggests that what has begun from a singularity of a sort to terminate in a singularity of a sort. Not ruling out the singularity of time space and matter as suggested by the Big bang theory, but adding to it a singularity of form and essence. As we (the universe and what is in it and it) are creations of information that preceded us we might simply end up being information that outlasts us. After all what we seem to gather is information that made us, that is governing our very essence and that is leading us in to our end and begging. So information we seek, information we gather and information we pass and I invite you to stay on as I embark on the journey of gathering synthesizing and disseminating information about all and us in particular once again and more.

As we are constructs of information we in turn gather, compile, multiplex and decompile to fit our needs and be compatible with the dynamic and ever evolving environment we often find ourselves in. In as much as what comes in to us by way of information affects our inner mechanics and chemistry it seems rather obvious that what we give out as pieces of information will have a similar effect on the receiving end to whom the information is of need to accomplish a task or fit a circumstance. Fitting a circumstance in a life's time entails finding life in a time segment, in a condition and place and the information compatible to make the right decisions and actions to enhance and sustain it. As every life form gathers information it as well learns and inherits from its predecessors who are endowed with knowledge by inheritance, experience and learning. Experience seems to teach that we curriculurize and compartmentalize information delivery and receipt in synthesis with our physiological stage of development that those who are old enough and knowledgeable are of importance in the determination and arrangement of information to be dissipated till such time deemed unnecessary by reach of a physiological developmental stage and meeting the corresponding intellectual and psychological prerequisites. As we are physical constructs of information and our physical body is nourished and sculpted by the constant feed of information we receive and our physical construction as well reverse feeds our information processing and output quality and efficiency. These and many more points which I would be getting in to are made clear to me from the initial chapter of the book.

My conclusions and insights as well may not concur 100% with that of the Author's that is because it is not my intent to summarize nor criticize, but take the outline and jot some the few thoughts that came to mind as I read it. As the amount of information we are able to access increased exponentially, it has become a common worry that we are becoming somewhat disconnected from our immediate social and physical environment and more of individuals than social beings and the author as well elaborates on that very eloquently.

It is though a couple of slanted angle views that struck my vision and carried my thoughts that I wanted to share here. One of them being the relationship between depth and width of vision as governed by the law of optics; that is the narrowing of the field of vision often is a precondition to magnification or magnification of a small item or being without exception narrows or eliminates peripheral vision and if not totally eliminated it is often lost as a background noise without due consideration. Such is the capability and purpose of our modern day gadgets and instruments from the television to the computer, from the internet to the telephone to make as reach and touch what was otherwise impossible. As our reach from all over the county to all over the state, nation and the Glob of like minded people becomes an instantaneity, are we breaking down to getting ever more divergent to our individual beats or are we getting convergent and getting to a common Global beat and rhythm? These increase in distance and scope of our reach has in fact made us people of specialties where generalities could not carry one across any river and our interdependence by that much stronger and important if we are to cross oceans and continents to accomplish a task and fulfill our needs. Social intelligence as such is the awareness and acknowledgment of a fundamental truth that no individual is an island in itself or her/himself. That from the minutest of beings and non beings in our Universe are endowed with an important task for us to be and do when and if it falls within the grand universal scheme and could only harm has when it is out of synch with this grand scheme, and in its struggle to find its rightful place if we happen to be the grand obstacle that it had to overcome. It is only recently that we are coming to the understanding of such an integrated interdependent Globe and Universe and we still have a long ways to traverse to come to a complete understanding of an integrated grand universal and global reality.

A thing is not real only if it is real in its consequences, but if and only if a common reference is established by all of us or most of us and com to a common understanding of what it is and establish an agreement to that effect otherwise both the imagined and the real one has biological consequences, the real one to all while the imaginary to the only one who imagined it. Luck of a common reference would render the imaginations and ideas remain realities of the individual minds (imaginations) until such time they are seen from a common established common reference vantage which is often the very essence and intent of a universal being. When two items or individuals are asynchronous one of them or both seems more than likely out of sync with this grand universal essence and being that often leads to sickness or death.

Our inner self and outer self and anything else's constantly and permanently browses its environment not only to synchronize itself with every other of our and its kind, but also establishes a common reference for affinity and common understanding. Why are particular sound wave lengths with particular pitch and amplitude, tones and overtones appealing to all of humanity and other are not? Is it may be we are all attuned to a common inner and outer audible and non rhythm's tones and overtones? If so what could be its fundamental tones wavelength, amplitude and pitch that is being amplified when we are attuned to music that is at the root of our pleasure and displeasure? We know in our efforts to synchronize and amplify we move with the beat of the drum, tone of the piano wind instrument or string what of our inner parts dance do our instruments of music follow? It seems we create music in by a dance and vibration of some delicate parts of our inner mind only to reinforce and amplify that common inner vibration where ever it occurs and whatever it is.

It is elaborated clearly and at length how we humans are capable of emotional mapping of each other's state of mind and there is no wonder what we humans and everything else have an exact copy of our parts( not organs or body parts, but elements that constitute us) independently of time, space and condition. As our biological and physiological similarities increase so does what constitutes us. That who are in them are as well in us as clones or mirror images in a sort of a worm whole without the effect of time and space , what happens to them then becomes what happens to us in the degree of the cloned entities in us and them. These are rather the source of our empathy and sympathy with others and them with us. It is worth it here to mention why the effects of modern communication machines like telephones ,televisions the internet and the rest of them all are deemed isolating despite the fact that they have, can and will takes us to greater distances and greater number of people in lesser time may be it is because that they don't have emotions that we can map in to our brains for the mere fact that the amount of what is in them and us in common pales in comparison to what we have in live people and others near us. In many words and a single sentence distance and time have direct bearing on the amount of common entities inherited and acquired that exist amongst people and other living and none living things having a direct effect on the degree of each other's emotional mapping.

As it turns out that brain imaging reveals when several people are questioned "how are you doing?" activated the same parts of the brain as when asked "How is she feeling?" I wondered if that would activate the same region of the brain if "she" is exchanged for "it" not it have no emotion, but due to the common in "You" and "it". While "You and "She" are basically constructs of the similar or near the same information, give and take acquirements along the path being, the information that "You and "It" are constructed on in comparison diverge more. " One can safely conclude that the emergence and persistence of cooperative behavior are not at all unlikely, provided the participants meet repeatedly, recognize one another and remember the outcomes of the past encounters." "Throughout the evolutionary history of life, cooperation among smaller units led to the emergence of more complex structures, as for example the emergence of multicultural creatures from single celled organisms. In this case, cooperation became as essential as competition. Spatial structures act to protect diversity. They allow cooperators and defectors to exist side by side. In different, but related context, similar spatial patterns allow populations of hosts and parasites or prey and predators, to survive together despite the inherent instability of their interaction. Such cooperative strategies may have been crucial for pre-biotic evolution, which many researchers believe may have taken place on surfaces rather than in well-stirred solutions. Catalyzing the replication of a molecule constitutes a form of mutual help; hence, a chain of catalysts, with each link feeding back on itself, would be the earliest instant of mutual aid." The Mysteries of Mathematics from the Archives of Scientific American. June 1995. By Martin A. Nowak, Robert M. May and Kari Sigmund. The above quotation is rather not made in the exact context the authors of the article might have intended to explain game theory, yet I find it telling of the mutual help and assistance that existed and exist in the fundamentals of our makeup that calls for a mapping of each other's emotional state for survival and trivial now and in the after now.

As it is apparent that there is a continuous infighting for position, possession, love and ultimately for offspring often when a confrontation becomes eminent with another of similar or different entity, the infighting becomes a matter of secondary importance and instantaneous communication takes a front raw and emotional mapping becomes a vital medium. These are the rules of life and being from primordial beginning to the present, inner peace and intra-peace, infighting and intra-fighting in the March forward and dynamic progress with time always as a valued commodity. " Our abilities, to speak, love, hate, and perceive the world around us, as well as our memories, our dreams, even our species history, emerge from the combination of a multitude of tiny electrical signals that spread across our brains just like a thunderstorm sweeps a summer sky." Seeking the neural code By Miguel A.L Nicolelis and Sindarta Ribeiro, Scientific American magazine Decmber2006. Information reduced to tiny electrical signals are rather readable and understandable by each and any part of our brain thus establishing a common reference for all information that we collect through any of our senses often to be complimented by any other to establish a common reference as I stated some time earlier in this writing and lending some additional credence to emotional mapping of people and may be other animates as well, for tiny electrical signals remain the same before they are compiled in to bites and bites of information.

Trouble: Norwegian Live

Super 5 song live EP from the group making inroads into the rock n roll machine. Includes a live version of their US hit 'Yellow'.
Customer Review: Great Live Album
I enjoyed this album as soon as I heard it. It sounds amazing and the tracks are classic! I would recommend this album to any Coldplay fan that loves the sound of a good, clean, live album. Hope you'll take my advice & enjoy!
Customer Review: Definately the best second Coldplay purchase
As with all of the live Coldplay stuff I have heard the renditions of their songs are pretty straightforward; however, as with all live music it has an energy that is only felt when a band is on stage. Chris uses his voice to accent songs bringing the majority of their uniqueness and variation. Audience participation is sparse, but a fun addition when it can be heard. The recording quality on this recording is B+ for a live rock concert. Could stand to be tightened up a little bit, and I don't think the concert went without a clip or two (Shiver is the least amiable of the tracks.) In the end this CD is for Coldplay fans, collectors, or people who just buy too many CD's, such as myself. But I promise that you won't be disappointed with the purchase. This is an excellent live performance and is a fun rediscovery of one of our new favorite bands.

The word fibromyalgia comes from the Latin term for fibrous tissue (fibro-) and the Greek ones for muscle (-myo-) and pain (-algia). It is also known as fibrositis. It is a syndrome characterized by chronic pain, stiffness, and tenderness of muscles, tendons, and joints without detectable inflammation.Fibromyalgia does not cause body damage or deformity. However, undue fatigue plagues the large majority of patients with fibromyalgia and

Fibromyalgia is considered an arthritis-related condition. However, it is not a form of arthritis (a disease of the joints) since it does not cause inflammation in the joints, muscles, or other tissues or damage them. But fibromyalgia can (like arthritis) cause significant pain and fatigue and it can similarly interfere with a person's ability to carry on daily activities.

Irritable bowel syndrome may occur with fibromyalgia.Other symptoms of fibromyalgia may include headaches, painful menstrual periods, numbness or tingling of the extremities, restless legs, temperature sensitivity, and cognitive and memory problems (sometimes referred to as "brain fog").

Fibromyalgia tends to affect women. Only 10 to 20% of people with fibromyalgia are men. The diagnosis of fibromylgia in both women and men is usually made during middle age, although the symptoms may be present earlier in life. People with certain rheumatic diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus (lupus), or ankylosing spondylitis (spinal arthritis) are more likely to also have fibromyalgia.

Fibromyalgia is not always easy to diagnose because many of the symptoms mimic those of other disorders, there are no visible signs of the disorder that a physician can see and there is no definitive laboratory test for fibromyalgia. The diagnosis of fibromyalgia is a clinical diagnosis. It is based on a history of chronic widespread pain that persists for more than 3 months in combination with tenderness in at least 11 of 18 specific tender point sites. Treatment is most effective when it incorporates combinations of education, stress reduction, exercise, and medication. A study has shown that aerobic exercise, such as swimming and walking, improves muscle fitness and reduces muscle pain and tenderness. Heat and massage may also give short-term relief. Patients with fibromyalgia may benefit from a combination of exercise, medication, physical therapy, and relaxation. Recommendations for prevention and treatment

1.Obtain delayed food IgG allergy testing, such as that available at New Hope Medical Center. This requires fasting for 12 hours prior to a blood draw.148 food antigens are tested against the patient's blood. Reactions are viewed under a microscope and recorded by digital camera. The patient is then given a consultation, along with an instruction manual, on how to correct this situation. If the patient's blood is too reactive, then a few intravenous infusions may become necessary prior to the blood draw in order to reduce this hyperactive state and obtain a more accurate test result.

2.Avoid processed foods (e.g., as white flour), refined foods (e.g., as white sugar), and stimulants such as coffee, tea, and tobacco (See "Smoking Addiction") as these can all depress your immune system.

3. Make an effort to increase your consumption of water.Attempt to drink eight glasses of purified or reverse osmosis water daily.

4. Ensure that your bowels move at least once daily by increasing your fiber consumption in the form of fresh fruits and vegetables. Oat bran and psyllium husk are also good sources of fiber. Coffee enemas can be very helpful here, as well as for stimulating liver detoxification via bile production.(See "Constipation")

5. Check your thyroid function by measuring your basal body temperature. This is done by placing a thermometer under your arm for 10 minutes before arising from bed on two consecutive days. For menstruating women, this is best done at the beginning of the menstrual cycle. The average basal body temperature should be greater than 97.8 degrees. If not, a trial of natural thyroid should be considered. (See "Hypothyroidism").

6. Consider a course of Cortef with a Micro dose Protocol.Cortef is a weak, water soluble steroid that helps to raise the body's threshold of pain by raising its natural cortisol level. It is given in a gradually decreasing amount over 2-3 weeks after which the patient may be placed on "booster doses" 4-5 days each week as needed for pain. This is a great way to interrupt the cycle of chronic pain and without the side-effects of Prednisone.
